Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

  • Page format

All papers should be submitted in the ‘Word’ format (.doc). The paper should be A4 size, with the margins set at 2.54 cm for top, bottom, and right and left respectively. The paper should be less than 8 pages long using two columns spaced at 0.8 cm and single line spacing.

  • Abstract

Authors are requested to ensure that abstracts give concise factual details. Font used here is Times-New Roman 10pt. A suitable length of abstract is about 150 words and should be within 300 words.  It is preceded by the title and the authors.

  •  Key words

times, italic, 10pt, one blank line below abstract, indent if key words exceed one line

  • Title page 

The first page consists of two parts: Front matters : single column (category of article, title, author(s), affiliation(s), contact address(es), E-mail address of corresponding author, abstract, key words)

  • Layout and fonts for the front matters

Title (Capital) in Times-Roman, 14pt, bold (About 15mm blank space). eg. PAPER TITLE

Author(s) in Times-Roman, 12pt. (About 5 mm blank space) the * identifies the primary and the corresponding author. eg. Author*1, Author2, Author3

Affiliation(s) in Times-Roman, 9pt. eg. Department name, College name, University name,

E-mail address (corresponding author) in Times- Roman, 9pt (About 10 mm blank space)

Abstract in Times-Roman, 10pt, max. 300 words, (1 line spacing) and

About 5 Key Words in Times-Italic, 10pt, (max. 2 blank lines).

The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) should be numbered in order of appearance as shown below. The title 'Key Words' is bold and italic. eg. 

E-mail: author*1, Author2, Author3

  • Layout and fonts of the main text

The text should be placed about 1cm below the key words. The text, in double columns put side by side with 8 mm gap in between, must be single-spaced with double spacing between chapters. The first line of each paragraph is indented 0.3 cm. Use 11pt Times-Roman font for the text.

  • Header and Footer

The header in all the pages should contain ‘Zorig Melong: A Technical Journal of Science, Engineering and Technology Vol.9 Issue 1 (2024)’ at the top left corner and ISBN No. at the top right corner. 10pt Times new roman font size should be used. The footer in the first page should contain name of the college at left and page no. at the right. 10pt Times new roman font size should be used. The footer of remaining pages should only contain the page numbers center-aligned at the bottom of each page.

  • Ordinary pages

In ordinary pages, the text must be placed within borders immediately below 19mm top margin. The other layout is same as the main text in the title page.

  •  Footnotes and remarks

   Avoid using footnotes and/or remarks. If any, try to explain it in the text, or in appendices.

  • Headings

Main heading

       Capital letters in 12pt bold face fonts should be used for main headings (chapter titles) that follow the chapter numbers as shown in this example. Leave double and single spacing of lines before and after every main heading.

Sub-headings for sections

       The sub-headings for sections, in 10pt. bold face fonts, with their initial letters capitalized, are preceded by section number. Leave single spacing of line before every sub-
heading.

Sub-headings for sub-sections

      They are written just as the sub-headings for sections are done, but follow alphabets with period.  No spacing of lines is left before and after every sub-heading.

Use special high quality fonts for all mathematical equations in the text. Some equations may be placed off the text.

  • FIGURES AND TABLES

Tables : Place table caption on top of the table.

Caption should be centered, but if it is long, it  should be indented. 

Location of figures and tables

Figures, tables and photographs should be inserted at the upper or lower part of the page where reference is first made to them. Do not place them altogether at the end of the manuscript. 

Figures or tables should occupy the whole width of a column, as shown in Table 1 or Fig.2 in this example, or the whole width over two columns. Do not place any text besides figures or tables. Insert about one to two lines spacing above the main text.

Fonts and captions

Do not use too small characters in figures and tables. At least, the letters should be larger than those in the captions (9 pt). Captions should be centered, but long captions must be indented like an example of Table 1. The heading of captions is 9pt bold face.

  • Citation and Reference List 

List all the references in 9pt times at the end of the paper. For citation and references, follow APA style.
