Abstract

This paper is an interdisciplinary research on the shape of Bhutanese Folktale Mimi Heylay Heylay. The paper looks at the different categories found in stories according to Kurt Vonnegut. Following the categories, the paper discerns the shape of the folktale based on two different symbolisms of the story. The paper attempts to analyse the plot of the folktale based on the shape of the story arc that it is fit into. The differences between the two shapes are drawn and the symbolisms it conveys are discussed.
