Abstract

This paper focuses on the development of an amusement park in Phuentsholing. It includes a feasibility study, planning and design, water requirement for water-related components, water purification system, water distribution pipelines, and finally the development of a master plan for the park. The feasibility study was conducted from both technical and economical perspectives. The amusement park comprises both water-related and non-water-related facilities. The various components for the park were selected based on a questionnaire survey and with consideration for sustainability during the dry season. Design of the components was carried out using Indian Standards (IS) codes and thumb rules adopted for the design of similar structures as available in literature. Water requirements and bather load calculations for the water-related components were also determined in this project. A water purification system was selected after assessing the water quality, and subsequently, the water distribution lines were designed. Finally, the master plan for the park was developed using Photoshop.
